Wedding Programs: Which Style is Right for You?

·

Hey Marrygrams Bride! So your big day is right around the corner and you're finally ready to order your wedding programs. (And if you haven't already, check out our blog post on why you need them here). But how do you decide which style is right for your event? And how much wording can you squeeze onto a single fan blade anyway? Have no fear! This blog will teach you everything you need to know about this wedding ceremony essential.

Types of Marrygrams Wedding Programs

Flat Programs

These elegant wedding programs are a great starting point for any ceremony. They are long enough to fit all of the important information but not so long that shorter ceremony descriptions feel empty on the page. Typically this style of program includes the your names, date and venue centered at the top of the page. That is followed by your wedding party details, the order of your ceremony and a small thank you message if space allows. But like any of our program designs this can be fully customized to fit your specific needs.

(Pro Tip: If you love this particular look but need more space you can always upgrade to double sided printing as well.)

Great For: Classic, simple ceremonies.

Bifold Programs

Bifold programs are our newest design, and we definitely created them with longer weddings in mind. These pretty wedding programs can fit a lot of information, making them perfect for traditional Jewish, Catholic or Indian ceremonies. And if you don't fit that description, that's okay too! If you're having a song, a longer reading, or just want a little bit more space to tell your love story, these are a great option.

Typically this style of program includes a "cover" with your names, date and venue. That is followed by wedding party details, the order and description of your ceremony and a thank you message on the back cover. Many couples also use these to include song lyrics, a poem or reading, or as a special place to honor the memory of loved ones who are no longer with them. That's the beauty of our bifold programs. You really can curate them to be exactly right for your own ceremony.

Great For: Longer, formal ceremonies with a lot of text.

Fan Programs

Fan programs are the Marrygrams powerhouse of wedding day stationery. They take the most amount of time and effort to create but it's worth it every time. Not only are they luxurious, beautiful and informative, but they have the added bonus of keeping your guests cool! This makes them perfect for outdoor ceremonies, but we promise they fit in just as well in a classic church setting.

Fan programs are typically comprised of 4 blades, but we can always customize them to include 3 or 5, depending on how much wording you have. There is the cover blade, including your names, date and venue. This is usually followed by a wedding party blade, a ceremony order blade and a thank you or memorial blade. All of your ceremony information is then lovingly tied with a satin ribbon in the color of your choice for the perfect finishing touch.

Great For: Outdoor ceremonies or for an added feel of luxury.

And once you've decided on the perfect style, just sit back, relax and leave the heavy lifting to us. We do recommend purchasing at least 2-3 weeks before your wedding. But we really can accommodate just about any time frame. So what are you waiting for? Let's get started! We can't wait to help you create a lasting keepsake for your big day.
