It seems so crazy to me that I’m already sitting down to write a Thanksgiving post. Where has 2018 gone?!
I’m not complaining though. The start of the holiday season is always my favorite. It’s a time to get together with friends and family and celebrate gratitude. And we all have so much to be grateful for. So many wonderful things have happened for us this year. From the opening of the Marrygrams Boutique to the addition of two new ladies to our production team, we’ve been busy! So I’d like to take this moment to reflect on the year we’ve had, and the people who’ve made it possible.
You never know what’s going to happen when you begin a new project. And the boutique was no exception. (You can read all about that process here!) But I am forever grateful for the warmth and love with which it has been received. Our downtown community is small, but incredibly supportive. And while we are still figuring it out, I am so happy and proud of the work we have done this year. It’s no easy feat to open a brand new retail space. But every time somebody walks in and exclaims that “this is exactly what Golden needed!” I know we are doing something right.
We also welcomed Katie and Mikayla to the Marrygrams team in June and they’ve been busy making sure your orders look fabulous. It’s been really lovely to have some fresh perspectives and energy in the shop. And with them taking over production duties, we’ve had more time to start planning new product launches, a wholesale revamp and our first holiday season with the Boutique. So things are definitely not slowing down anytime soon!
To our online brides: Thank you! You are the reason we have been able to grow so much in the last few years. And, as always, we are honored to get to share in your most special of days. It is so magical that it’s our job to help you celebrate love every single day of the week. Thank you for trusting us with one of the biggest moments of your life. We couldn’t do any of this without you.
To everyone who has visited the Boutique: Thank you! Your support and excitement for the goodies we have curated is humbling. This new adventure has been so fun for us and incredibly gratifying. It is such a treat to get to connect with the people in our community at the shop, everyday. We can’t wait to see what the holiday season, and this next year, brings. Your commitment to shopping small really makes all the difference.
So as we all sit down to tables piled high with Thanksgiving dinner this weekend, lets also remember why we are gathering. To celebrate the things that bring us together as family, friends and neighbors. To set down our screens and open our hearts to reconnect with the people we love most, in person.
We hope you all have a warm, safe and happy Thanksgiving.
And when you’re done with the turkey, come support your local businesses on November 24th for Small Business Saturday! And that doesn’t just mean us. Wherever you are in the world, know that when you invest in your community, you’re helping real people live out their entrepreneurial dreams. And that’s a kind of magic all it’s own.
