Traditions We Love: Wedding Favors
Wedding favors are a time honored tradition that date all the way back to the 16th century! At their opulent weddings and parties, French aristocrats would present their guests with delicate boxes filled with sugared almonds. The bitterness of the almonds combined with the sweetness of the sugar was meant to represent the bitter-sweetness of marriage. It was a great honor to receive such a gift at these events.
